easy ice cream recipe (chocolate and port flavoured)


Making ice cream doesn’t have to be hard or daunting. This recipe does not require any churning or an ice cream machine. Just an electric beater and a bowl. Plus the ingredients of course.

Chocolate and port ice cream


600ml thickened cream
1 can (375ml) sweetened condensed milk
3 metric tablespoons cocoa powder
60ml port
100g dark chocolate (70% cocoa) melted


Melt the 100g of dark chocolate, let it cool slightly.
Place all ingredients in a bowl and combine.
Beat until soft peaks form.
Transfer into containers.
Freeze overnight or 6 hours.

Makes 1.2L

Once you’ve mastered this recipe, you can play around with the flavours by substituting the cocoa, chocolate and type of alcohol. Just don’t forget the alcohol! Easy!
