Halloween was one of those holidays that I wished we had in Australia when I grew up – dressing up and knocking on stranger’s doors asking for free candy – it sounds like the American dream. Watching the Roseanne and Simpson’s annual Halloween specials made me wished I lived in the USA so I can celebrate this awesome day. While we haven’t fully embraced Halloween in Australia, it is growing and it’s apparent in the supermarkets that Halloween is on the rise and here to stay.
To pay homage to this day, I’ve prepared a Halloween inspired treat. The spider uses an Arnott’s Royal cookie as the base, the legs are pretzels glued on with melted chocolate and the eyes are made of smarties. A simple treat but fun for the kids, big and small.
